Q: Why are the bulbs of your thermometers discolored?
A: The bulbs of our high temperature models are a straw color stainless, due to high temperature testing. Bright and shiny means never tested at high temperatures.

Q: Why doesn't my thermometer read 212°F in boiling water?
A: The temperature of boiling water will vary, depending on purity and pressure/altitude. The thermometer reading will be affected by the placement of the bulb as well as the temperature of the water.
